Living at Target

I'm very embarrassed to tell you how many times I've been to Target this week.  FIVE!  I'm even more embarrassed to tell you I still need to go back tomorrow because I couldn't use all my Target coupons in one transaction.

I got some Halloween plates and cups for next year, a bag of candy, then I've bought various grocery items and clearance items.  I haven't taken a picture of everything, because, well, my husband might see it.  Haha, j/k!

Christmas shopping is coming along well.  I still have only stocking stuffers for my dad, but everyone else is at least 50% done.  How is it coming for you?

Hitting the Sales

The yard sale went well.  The rain stopped long enough to have a great day.  It came back again yesterday and today.  Thursday morning the schools had a 2 hour delay because of the rain.  My house is getting back to normal, so I'm happy about that!

After work today, I ran by CVS and Target. 

First, you will notice that I'm in a snacking mood today.  Don't judge.  PMS happens.

All Crayola at CVS is B1G1 50% off this week.  I've been looking at this 3D Sidewalk Chalk at Target for a while now for Jimmy's cousin for Christmas.  (We'll not talk about then I went to Target and all their Crayola chalk items are on clearance.)

The dry erase crayons are probably going to be better received than dry erase markers, so I got those to go with the $2 dry erase removable sticky pad I found clearanced at Target a couple of weeks ago.

All in all, with my $5/$25 coupon I spent $16.04 out of pocket and got back a $9 ECB for the Revlon.

I forgot to take my ECBs from last week with me, so I had a higher out of pocket.  It happens.

Where was the glass cleaner when I had a coupon last month?

The Spongebob and Diego books were clearanced to .88 cents each.  Again, going in kids' Christmas presents.

Funny thing about the Golden Grahams:

12 oz was $2.54

16 oz was $2.39

These were the regular prices, not that one was on sale.  Obviously, I bought the 16 oz.

I am running to Rite Aid tomorrow.  I'm going out to dinner with friends tonight, and my Rite Aid seems to close really early.  I was going to go earlier but didn't have my Up Rewards with me.  The story of my unorganized day.

Luckily there are about 5 Rite Aids in a 2 mile radius of me (not kidding!), so I think I'll be able to get the Schick razors, Nivea chapstick and Viva Paper towels.  I'm hoping anyway.

I'd been saving my $2 Video Values coupon for Banana Boat sunscreen until it goes on clearance.  I skipped a couple of weeks at RA and when I went back in at the end of last week they only had 4 bottles of sunscreen left.  Total.  Of course those were RA brand, so my coupons weren't any good, but I was amazed at how quickly the sunscreen was scooped up.  I didn't pursue more than one store as it was going to be a good deal if they had it, but not a search around for it.  However, the deals this week definitely will be!

Target Trip, Menu Plan

I should have waited for Jimmy to get home.  My total would have been lower.

Silly goose, though, you didn't really think I could go to Target and only get what was on my list, did you?

I figured I needed some containers to store my cooking in, since our plastic containers have vanished as well.

48 load Tide Free & Clear was 30% off, marked down to $7.41, my manufacturer's $1.50 off coupled with a $1.50 Target coupon brought it down to $4.41.  I never want to run out of laundry detergent, apparently.

My windows are gnarly looking, so the Windex was clearanced to $9.08 and I used a $3 off coupon.

And while I'm at it I may as well clean my dishwasher (cherry Kool-Aid) and my washing machine (the Clorox).

Mmm, here are the rest of my freezer cooking ingredients, minus chicken.  I have to go back to Farm Fresh as Target had tons of turkey, but no chicken.

My total was $66.  I plan on the freezer cooking lasting us two weeks, though, so with that and my other totals, it works out to be a lot cheaper than eating out. :)

Nutrients

Lest it seem like we subsist only on sugar, I have a picture of real food.  With color and nutrients.  Oooh, aaah.

Sorry it's such a bad picture, but you get the idea.  I was trying to tend to hungry dogs, too.  My total was $23, which is a lot for so few things, but nothing was on sale (besides .50 cents off two Market Pantry cheeses) and I hope to not step foot into another store again for a couple of weeks.  Well, besides running to Rite Aid again tomorrow.  Beyond that, though, I am not going to a store!  (Ok, I lied.  I might go to TJ Maxx.)  I even skipped Farm Fresh $1 doubles today because I was wilting in the heat.  I had to pick up a prescription at Target, so grabbed what I needed while in there.

By the way, I still have not done any baking.  My rolling pin is sitting, untouched, on my counter.  Sigh.

Target Trip 07/30

I did good today.  I had my blinders on, and I didn't buy too much I didn't need.  Well, I didn't need any snacks, but let's not talk about that.

Yes, there is a lot of sugar in that picture, but I'm just buying for two adults so I don't feel so bad. ;)

I ended up spending $54.  Not wonderful, but we're going on a trip soon so I needed some drinks and snacks.  You know, needed.

Target Trip 06/08

I went today to pick up a prescription, buy a cd, and buy milk.  I got the prescription, they still are out of the cd, and forgot the milk.

- To replace the no good one in my Maybelline powder.  I've used Covergirl forever with no problem until the very end, I couldn't even get through 1/4 of the Maybelline before the pad went to pieces!

- and apparently forgot to give her my other .50 cent off coupon.  Dang!

No picture due to no camera yet and I took my sister's back to her.

Those were the highlights.  I bought some dog treats, not on sale, but my $1 off coupons expired today, so I went ahead and stocked up.

Overall I spent 90.84 (pretax), received back $10 in giftcards and saved 43.99!  Yipee.
(Although my husband could have done without telling the cashier, "watch this!" when I handed him the coupons. :))

Target 05/25 Saved $24.16

I'm having a duh day.  More on that in a minute.

I went to Target this evening and did pretty well.  I, of course, have no picture but did get an email today that my new camera has shipped!  Yay!  So you may get picture overload once it arrives. :)

This had to be adjusted off at customer service as it is off a regular gallon of milk, but I asked them about it at customer service before shopping and they said it should come off.  So the adjusted it off when it didn't.

They had a ton of frozen dinners literally thrown into a meat cooler.  I had a Target coupon for $1 off 5 Lean Cuisine dinners.  Great.  I'll buy Jimmy a few.  Coupon had to be pushed through at the register but cashier did it no questions asked.  Wonder why it beeped.  It's because I found out as I put them in my freezer, I bought 3 Lean Cuisines and 2 Healthy Choice dinners.  Duh.

Then at the register I got another coupon for $1 off 5 Lean Cuisine dinners (maybe I'll learn to pay attention one of these days--did all the clearanced ones have to be green and white, though?) and a coupon for a FREE Market Pantry frozen pizza.  No other purchase needed.  We don't eat much pizza, but I have bought a Market Pantry one before and thought it was pretty good.  It'll be good for a lazy Sunday night meal. :)

Target Trip 05/11

Okay, let's be honest.  I think I need a chaperone when I go to Target.  They might as well forward my paychecks to Target every week instead of my bank.

I got a little carried away.  I actually had more I was going to buy but didn't realize until I pulled in the parking lot that I left some coupons in a separate pile at home.  Thus a good reason to file all your coupons away immediately.

Starbucks drinks were on sale for 4.99 each and used $1 off coupons from the 05/02 Smart Source
Got Dentastix for .49 again, still on price cut and used more $2 off manufacturer's and $1 off Target coupons.
The Iron Man 2 plates are for my husband's upcoming birthday.  I mean, might as well have some fun?

Sorry this picture isn't better.  I'm still waiting for my $25 Target giftcard from Swagbucks to post so I can buy a new camera.  My current camera literally stays alive for 2 minutes at a time.  I have to take my pictures very quickly. :)

Anyway, these 2 roll packs of wrapping paper are on clearance at my store for $1.50 each.  They're really cute.  I think I'm stocked up on wrapping paper for a while now.  They also had matching 4 pack bags for $1.50 as well.  There are also boy patterns.

That was the Icee I decided I needed after that exhausting shopping trip! ;)
The French's mustard is a package of mustard with a honey mustard, too.  $1.27 and I used a .50 cent off coupon from this past Sunday.
Ortega salsas were $1.45 each (regular price), used $1/2 coupon.

Target finally has store brand Lactose-free milk!!  It is $2.99.

Jimmy Dean D-Light bowl on sale for $1.99, used a .55 cent off coupon (newspaper).

A co-worker just told me today she went to PF Changs the other day and how good it was.  Since I'm not heading to VA Beach or Richmond anytime soon, I was happy to see their meals for 2 were on sale for $4.99 this week (normally 7.49 so will be definitely trying this tomorrow and heading back to stock up on more if I like it!!)

Target Trip 05/06 and a Recipe

When I went for ear drops and lemonade last night, I mentioned I may have gotten sidetracked...

I found some Market Pantry drink mixes on clearance for 1.88
I also did the Dentastix deal again, getting them for .49 cents.
I thought the shrimp looked good, so that ended up in my buggy at 8.99
That mess of stuff beside the lemonade is Market Pantry boneless, skinless chicken breasts which are marinading in freezer bags.  They were marked at 7.19 but rang up on sale for 5.79.

Not too much else exciting to report.  I got black beans to go in Texas Caviar* but forgot to grab the blackeyed peas, so none of that this weekend.

Texas Caviar Recipe
1 bottle Italian dressing
1 can Rotel tomatoes
1 can yellow corn (drained)
1 can white corn (drained)
1 can black beans (drained)
1 can black eyed peas (drained)
Scallions (optional)

Mix together and chill overnight.  Serve with tortilla chips.

Seasonings Clearance at Target

When I went to Target this evening to get ear drops and lemonade, I noticed that they had a ton of seasonings clearanced.  A lot of them were the McCormick gourmet collection.  Most of the ones I noticed were $2 or less.  (Note that the spices are nowhere near the pharmacy or lemonade.  I'll have that trip up sometime tomorrow.)  If you're a good cook and use these, you might be interested.

Seventh Generation Wipes were 2.99 less $1 manufacturer's coupon and $1 Target coupon (unsure if it still available on the Target website, once I reach my limit it won't show me if it's available or not) = .99 cents

I got this DVD for 7.99 less a $2 off coupon no longer available on coupons.com (it is for my Dad for Father's Day so that's why it's covered up)

On a lot of the DVDs were peelies for a free 2 liter Coke product when you bought the DVD, so I got the ginger ale free.  (Also good for this nasty sickness I have.)

I wanted to show you all that we do eat more than yogurt and frozen dinners in my house. :)

We stopped in for tomatoes and lettuce, and well, you know how that goes...
Snausages were on price cut for 2.01 and I used a $2/2 coupon from coupons.com (no longer available)
** There is a coupon on the package for $1 off 1 so you can get the same deal.
3 Ziploc products, all were on sale 2.27 each, used B1G1 free coupon (newspaper), $1/2 coupon (newspaper) and .40 cents off one (newspaper).  I'll submit this for the SC Johnson rebate.
** Not sure why I thought I could use all three coupons, but I should have only used two.  I just saw the flaw in my couponing.  The register took them all off without a problem, so it didn't hit me at the store.

Target Trip 04/12

I had no coupons for what I bought at Target today, my husband would be dismayed.  I got my Cooking Light magazine that wasn't in my bag the other day and picked up a few other things.  Note that I only went for the magazine and milk... Isn't that how it goes?

Crystal Light was marked down from 3.89 to 2.84
I got two magnets clearanced to .98 cents each (Can you tell that one is a cat?  Yep, you know that was definitely bought to be donated! ;)  By the way, it's for the Community Service Boards' Day Program Bingo closet, that's why it's a random thing to donate.)
The Archer Farms frozen vegetables were also on sale this week so I stocked up on some more green beans.  They're more expensive than Green Giant but are the best green beans I've ever had!
Also, I know that it's cheaper to buy a head of lettuce and chop it yourself, but it's for dinner tonight and all that shopping today can wear a girl out!!

I took a long lunch today and went grocery shopping.  How exciting is that?  I faired pretty well except for the Cooking Light magazine I have to go back and claim.  I paid for it ($5!!!  Way to not check the price!)  but it didn't make it home.

14 yogurt cups (not all pictured) - 10 Dannon used $1/10 coupon from the paper
2 Cherry Cokes and 1 Reese's Cup (which my husband just informed me he ate!!) -- total was 2.10 after using both coupons

3 Seventh Generation products at 2.99 each -- used Target and manufacturer coupons to bring cost down to $4 total and will submit for this $5 rebate making them a money maker
Birthday candles on clearance for .56 cents (they're super cute, they have polka dots on them)
Easter plates for next year on clearance for .49 cents
Plain pink napkins in the Easter clearance for .74 cents

Disclaimer:  I generally do not use coupons on travel size items, I used two last week, but some people stock up on travel sized items rather than regular sized items.  Travel sized has it's place, but overall I like to think buying the larger package is saving on packing overall.  Feel free to do what you want, some stores will give you grief over it, but if the coupon doesn't specify excluding trial size, feel free to use it.
